Welcome to my research project page! This page will reflect my research project. It's my pleasure to be a part of a unique ENG100 class with a great professor and classmates. Coming to this class, my writing was not as clear as what’s it now. I didn’t know the techniques associated with writing clean Research Project, Narrative Project: Memoir , etc. This class has broaden my horizons of the writing process and with that, I can now write to make meaning.
We (Florence Jossy, Zahedul Islam and Francis Bracewell) watched two documentaries Miss Representation by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, Kimberlee Acquaro and The Mask You Live In by Jennifer Siebel Newsom. Our research focus only on The Mask You Live In, The film surveyed wide array of the troubles faced by boys and men as they try to navigate the realm of masculinity. A common theme was the command “be a man” and the cultural baggage that comes with living up to that ideal. For research project we were given some questions based on the films to select one from and to answer. We were also given the opportunity to collaborate with group or do an individual research work. Florence Jossy, Zahedul Islam agreed to collaborate with me in research project on the topic: Masculinity Impact on American Boys for a Positive Society and the questions we as a group choose is, how can American parents redefine masculinity for their sons? We selected MLA Style to do our project. Also blogs #10 and #11 Research Project: Gender Bias in the Media and A good mentor, a good society, I discussed my being, knowing and doing as it relates to the two films The Mask You Live In and Miss Representation. #12 Research Project: Masculinity impact on society.I started the puzzle of my research project. #13, My research project was falling in place after a long week of work with my team. and blog #14 Research Project: Masculinity Impact on American Boys for a Positive Society, were the build up to our final research project. It was such an extraordinary experience working as co-authors.
Ranging from the fact that we all came from different parts of the world and have cultural differences, we combined our ideas, respected each other views and found a common ground on points that we disagreed on and it work perfectly for us. Thanks to our professor who was always available to assist and redirect us and to our fellow classmates, we appreciate you for the support you all give us. We enjoyed the unity of our class; hope we stay connected as we leave this class and let’s not forget to keep making meaning as we writers from the ENG100 discourse community.2 Comments Research Project: Masculinity Impact on Boys for a Positive Society.
